PHOENICIA. Tyre. temp. Ba`alšillem (Sakton) I-Ba’ana, circa 425-402 BC. Half Shekel (Subaeratus, 21 mm, 5.23 g, 12 h). Phoenician pentekonter left before city wall with four towers; in exergue, two lions back to back. Rev. The Persian Great King standing right, holding dagger and grasping mane of lion held before him; all within incuse square. Cf. Elayi & Elayi 333 and HGC 10, 227 (for prototype). Several breaks in plating, otherwise, very fine.
